Dr. Janna Bentley and Dr. Mandy Wong (the medical directors), and associate physicians, treat all types and sizes of varicose veins and spider veins at their Kelowna, BC, vein clinic.
The vein treatments vary according to the patients needs, and include the following: injection treatments called sclerotherapy (either ultrasound-guided or under direct visualization), laser vein treatments for spider veins/telangiectasias, and the new endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) that can replace surgical stripping and tying off of severely varicosed veins.
With EVLT (similar to ELVeS) there is minimal down-time. EVLT is performed under local anesthetic, in the office and patients can be back on their feet doing normal activities the next day. (Interesting fact: EVLT is 98% effective while 'vein stripping' surgery is 85%.)
