With the 755nm wavelength, people with lighter skin and darker hair respond the best (Fitzpatrick skin types I–III). At 1064nm people with skin types IV and up can be treated. This wavelength also allows people with a tan to have a treatment, although this is not ideal and not as effective as when a person is untanned.
