Congratulations to Dr. Marjorie Docherty, from Kelowna, as BC’s “Canada's 2011 Family Physicians of the Year.” Each year the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) selects ten of the most exceptional family physicians from across the country.
She is a family physician, married to Dr. Henry Docherty, and currently she is President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
The CFPC is the voice of family medicine in Canada representing over 26,000 members across the country. It is the professional organization responsible for establishing standards for the training, certification and lifelong education of family physicians and for advocating on behalf of the specialty of family medicine, family physicians and their patients. The CFPC accredits postgraduate family medicine training in Canada's 17 medical schools.
