Due to Kelowna’s amazing summer weather, frequent sun exposure leaves us unable to carry out some laser treatments. Now that tans have faded it is a perfect time to consider getting rid of unwanted hair and past sun sins.
IPL Phototherapy is a noninvasive cosmetic rejuvenation procedure used on men and women to reduce or remove the unwanted effects of aging or sun exposure, such as fine lines, age spots, sun spots, and redness, and to diminish the size of pores and the appearance of tiny, superficial blood vessels.

Remember to wear your sun block every day – even in the winter!
LATISSE® solution is a growth treatment for lashes. In fact, it’s the only FDA-approved treatment clinically proven to grow lashes. And it’s the only lash growth product of its kind available by prescription. So you’ll need to talk to your doctor to see if it’s right for you.
LATISSE® solution is a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes, as instructed by your doctor. Then, gradually, the results come in. You may start to see more length in as little as 4 weeks and you should achieve full growth in 16 weeks. It’s not an illusion of growth. It’s your own eyelashes — only better.
LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.
Discover the LATISSE® difference, available at Lakeshore Vein & Aesthetics Clinic.
The solution may be lash perming:
• Lasts 6 weeks
• Takes 60 minutes
• Costs $60

The midface is an essential component of an attractive face. With the aging process, the fatty tissue that normally drapes over the cheekbones can begin to sag with gravity. The result is less prominent cheekbones, and a droopy fold of skin and fat between the nose and the cheek (the nasolabial fold). The sagging cheek fat can also alter the appearance of the lower cheek. For example, one might notice jowls and bagginess of the lower eyelids often becomes more apparent after the fat of the upper cheek begins to sag. This in essence 'unveils' the bagginess of the lower lids, which have always been there. In addition to sagging of the skin and fat of the midface, there is also volume loss from the cheek with aging, due to loss of cheek fat and muscle.
At this point, with loss (or diminished) facial contours we lose light reflection off our face, causing creases and wrinkles (shadows) on our face become more noticeable.
A Soft Lift™ is a minimally invasive, non- surgical, no downtime alternative to a surgical face-lift.
A Soft Lift makeover combines the use of Juvederm™ dermal filler with a cosmetic injectable (Botox®) to instantly refresh your look in a single individualized treatment. Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid, which also naturally occurs in the body (skin, eyes, joints) and is used to smooth wrinkles and bring back lost fullness. Botox injections softens and relaxes lines, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines and frown lines between the brows.
A Soft Lift is the perfect treatment to look better not “done.”
Between photo-aging (brown spots, uneven texture, spider veins, wrinkles etc.) and mid-face aging there are often many issues to address. Fortunately Lakeshore Vein & Aesthetics Clinic has many treatment types to address your skin issues.
A great skin care regime – with daily SUNSCREEN – is the foundation of any treatment plan. Uneven pigmentation can be addressed with Lasers, topicals, and chemical peels. Volume loss and laxity is improved with dermal fillers and some lasers. Botox is perfect for dealing with dynamic wrinkles in the upper face, and those who tend to frown with their mouth (causing the corners to turn down and accentuating their marionette lines). Finish off the results with mineral make-up.
Combination therapies are recommended for maintaining your skin (the largest organ in your body and your first line of defense). Each treatment plan is customized to you concerns and budget.
A great analogy is that you don’t maintain your home with just a hammer – you use all the necessary tools required. So let us use the cosmetic medical equipment and expertise we have at the clinic to help revitalize you.
Metvix is a non-invasive topical treatment option for pre-cancerous and skin cancer lesions such as actinic keratoses (AKs), basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) and Bowen's disease (BD).
Metvix has been extensively clinically investigated. Long-term follow-up data have confirmed the valuable role of Metvix as a reliable and effective treatment for non-melanoma skin cancers within the range of effectiveness of other standard therapies. Significantly many patients with experience of other standard treatments prefer Metvix due to improved healing and markedly less scarring.
The procedure is relatively simple to perform and potential side effects are generally transient, predictable and manageable.

Astaxanthin is a red carotenoid pigment (similar to beta-carotene) that is found in small quantities in crustaceans (e.g. krill, shrimp & crayfish), salmon, trout, and also microalgae and yeast.
Additional Medical Properties:
It also provides skin enhancing benefits by helping reduce the appearance of wrinkles and increasing skin moisture content. Astaxanthin can have beneficial effects in the relationship between sun and skin. Over time it will help your skin to be less sensitive to the effect of UV rays, reduce the tendency to burn and protect the deeper levels of the skin which are still damaged by those UV rays that even broad spectrum sunscreens do not block. It will also help neutralize the free radicals that are produced as a result of UV exposure.
